Search Logan County Court Records
The official online starting point for Logan County court records is the Colorado Judicial Branch Docket Search. The tool is free and covers docket-level information for Colorado state courts, including Logan County Combined Courts. It is useful for checking a case number, party search, court date, attorney search, and basic event history. It is not a free download site for pleadings, orders, divorce decrees, probate letters, or certified records.
The Colorado Judicial Branch Logan County trial-court page is the local state-court landing page for dockets, records requests, advisements, jury resources, and court support links.
Full documents are requested through the Colorado Judicial Branch Record/Document Request Form or by contacting Logan County Combined Courts. The clerk reviews access limits before release. Suppressed cases, juvenile matters, probate files, and records with confidential data may need photo identification or may be withheld in whole or in part.
- Open the statewide docket search and select Logan County, the 13th Judicial District, or Logan County Combined Courts.
- Choose District Court, County Court, or both if the court level is not known.
- Set a date range, then add at least one more filter such as case number, party name, business name, or attorney.
- Review docket results for case class, court setting, parties, and event entries.
- Use the record request form for copies, certified records, disposition orders, divorce decrees, probate letters, or a register of action.

Logan County Court Locations
Two Sterling addresses matter for Logan County public records. Court case files are handled at Logan County Combined Courts on North Riverview Road. The historic Logan County Courthouse on Main Street is the county office address for the Clerk and Recorder, recording records, marriage licensing, elections, and motor vehicle services. Using the wrong address can slow a request because court pleadings and recorded documents are not held by the same office.
The Logan County Combined Courts location page publishes the court clerk address, phone, email, fax, and public counter hours.

The court record and document request form shows the document types a Logan County requester can ask the clerk to review.
Some records that people group with court records are actually held elsewhere. Marriage licenses and recorded land documents are Clerk and Recorder records. Logan County Court Records Access Laws
Colorado public access is not controlled by one single rule. Court case documents, judicial administrative records, county records, and law-enforcement records can fall under different laws and policies. For Logan County court cases, the practical route is still simple: search the public docket first, then request case documents through the state court form or the Logan County Combined Courts clerk.
The Colorado Judicial Branch access guide explains court record requests, court data requests, probation data, financial data, and online court record searches.
Key access rules:
C.R.S. §§ 24-72-201 to 24-72-206 generally opens Colorado public records unless a law allows or requires denial.
C.R.S. §§ 24-72-301 to 24-72-309 governs many criminal justice records, including law-enforcement records.
Public Access to Information and Records Rule 2 separates judicial administrative records from court case records.
Chief Justice Directive 05-01 references guide court document requests, fees, and restrictions.
Restricted Logan County Court Records
Juvenile cases, adoption records, sealed or suppressed cases, some probate records, mental health matters, and documents with protected personal data are not ordinary public files. The court record request form warns that suppressed cases, juvenile records, probate records, or files with confidential information may require a U.S. government-issued photo ID. Some records may still be denied after review.
CBI criminal history checks also have limits. Public Colorado criminal history checks do not include every sealed case, juvenile arrest, or traffic arrest under age 16. Sex offender registry access has its own public limits through CBI. A docket entry should not be treated as a full background check or proof of conviction without the matching disposition.
Note: For legal use, confirm the document with the clerk that issued or maintains the original record.
Logan County Sheriff and Jail Records
The Logan County Sheriff's Office and Detention Center are at the Riverview Road complex near the court clerk. Sheriff Brett Powell is listed in the county research, and the sheriff phone menu uses 970-522-2578. The sheriff channel matters for custody status, detention questions, civil process, bond logistics, and law-enforcement records. It is separate from the court clerk's docket and document request channels.
The Colorado Judicial Online Payment System is the separate state payment path for eligible court fees, fines, costs, and restitution.
For custody updates, Colorado VINE is the documented statewide notification fallback. Sentenced state-prison custody is searched through the Colorado Department of Corrections offender search, which is not the same as a Logan County jail search. Detailed custody and mail rules belong with Logan County inmate records.
Logan County Marriage Divorce Probate
Marriage licenses and civil unions are handled by the Logan County Clerk and Recorder, not the state court clerk. Divorce records are District Court domestic relations records and are requested through the Colorado Judicial Branch record request form. Probate matters are handled by the Probate Division of District Court through Logan County Combined Courts, with Renee Harty listed as Clerk of Court and Probate Registrar.
The official Logan County website is the entry point for county office records such as Clerk and Recorder services, sheriff information, and county courthouse resources.

Logan County Court History
The historic Logan County Courthouse at 315 Main Street was constructed in 1909 and is recognized by History Colorado. It remains important for county office records, especially Clerk and Recorder services. Modern court case access, however, runs through Logan County Combined Courts at the Riverview Road location.
The History Colorado page for the Logan County Courthouse documents the older civic building's historic role.
The county's recording history is older than the current court-access tools. The Recording Department states that recorded documents range from 1865 to the present. The historic archive includes reception books from March 1887 to July 1985, road records from 1887 to 1917, courtesy cards through March 15, 2002, and monument records from 1968 to 2015.
